Ever wonder what it’s like to live large in the mid 20th century? Well maybe you haven’t been to Memphis, Tennessee to visit the King of Rock and Roll’s home, the Graceland Mansion. His enormous 14-acre estate, paired with the Heartbreak Hotel, gift shops, and restaurants shows you exactly where and how Elvis Presley lived, following him from childhood up to his years of superstardom. Go ahead and put your blue suede shoes on and explore everything “Elvis”.
Ride up to the mansion, put on your headphones and explore each room of the Graceland Mansion exactly how he left it. The audio-guided tour lets you walk up and down the stairs to each floor at your own pace. I couldn’t keep track of all the exotic rooms he had to entertain his guests! Who knew people actually had a Jungle Room? I bet you have never seen one of those before!! How cool is that?
Before you are done with the mansion, make sure to take a stroll through the racquetball building, business office, car garage and trophy building. Then you can boogie on down to board his private jets. He named one of them after his only daughter, Lisa Marie. 24-karat gold sinks, suede chairs, and leather tabletops make this jet something you can’t forget!
As the audio-tour comes to an end, you will find yourself at the gravesite of the Presley family. Take a few moments to remember the King and then head back down to the gift shops and restaurants. If you’re lucky, you might even get to catch George Klein, Elvis’ best man, hosting his own show on Sirius Elvis Radio.
